We ensure that in preparing or reviewing policies, they align with legislative requirements, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

Operational risk assessment and control

The most critical component of Quality standards is being able to demonstrate that businesses have identified and controlled the risks in their business in a reasonable manner, to ensure that the customer requirements can consistently be met.

At ASI we pride ourselves in being able to provide comprehensive and practical tools to demonstrate that risk management has been conducted to meet the requirements of legislation.

We provide safe operating procedures, asset management plans, plant preventative maintenance registers, business continuity plans, training matrix development, contractor and vendor management, purchasing control, customer feedback tools and workplace inspections.

Disruption and incident management

Even with the best prepared management systems and practices things can still happen outside of our control leading to incidents and disruptions.

ASI can assist in the development and testing of disruption and incident management procedures based on your organisational risk particularly in the testing of business continuity plans.

We also provide incident management services related to failures in service delivery or equipment management which include:

  • - Incident investigation as either independent or leading an joint team with your staff, we can provide a planned, systematic and unbiased manner designed to not apportion blame, but to discover what happened and to establish the root causes.

These may include auditing against a recognised quality standards such as ISO9001 Quality Management, ISO55001 Asset Management or ISO22301 Business Continuity Management.

As an alternative, our consultants can assist your organisation to develop or improve your existing quality audit tools and processes, a specific quality audit program or to “transfer skills” to your internal audit team.

  1. Maintenance scheduling and verification:

Maintaining a company’s assets is critical in ensuring continued operations providing product or services to customers. ASI can provide assistance in ensuring that your asset management program is implemented and functioning adequately. Our services include development of preventative maintenance schedules which meet manufacturer’s or industry standards, the verification of maintenance practices, or the development of specific maintenance / prestart checklists.

  2. Standard operating procedure (SOP) writing:

Ensuring that key processes in your business are clearly defined, communicated and repeatable is vital in delivering services or products to customers. The ISO9001 standard for Quality Management identifies that making sure these key processes are documented is a requirement for Quality businesses. At ASI we have over 20 years of experience in developing clear and concise standard operating procedures, and delivering competency training to ensure that workers can demonstrate their knowledge and skills in working to procedural requirements.

  3. Training needs analysis:

All workers need training to conduct their work and complete specific tasks, whether it is specific qualifications, certificates, inductions, or on the job training to be competent in their work. Being able to identify all these training requirements and ensure that workers have been trained with evidence to support that training can be a difficult process. ASI can provide assistance in developing a comprehensive training needs analysis for every position in your business. This can provide confidence to all managers that their workers can perform the job tasks they have been allocated, it can assist HR teams in the hiring and on-boarding processes or workers and help formulate performance development goals and career pathways in your business.

  4. Business continuity planning and exercise drills:

In a major disruption to the business the way to make sure that the response is adequate and customers can continue to be serviced is to have a well understood and rehearsed business continuity plan and procedures.

ASI can develop and coordinate business continuity management exercises that ensure that the contingencies are in place and the teams are fully aware of their responsibilities when a disruption occurs. This includes confirmation that external resources, alternate systems and locations, and back up equipment are available and functional.
